Barr. Ajayi Jaiye Samuel

Ajayi Jaiye Samuel is a Nigerian legal practitioner, academic facilitator, and governance consultant with over sixteen years of professional legal experience spanning litigation, corporate advisory, public policy, and capacity building. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Law and holds an LL.M, LL.B, Certificate of Call to the Nigerian Bar, PGD in Journalism, and PGD in Education, among other professional qualifications.

He has served in various professional capacities, including Independent Legal Adviser and Consultant, Director of Litigation at Samuel Ajayi & Co, and Litigation Partner at Legalmax Chambers. His legal practice covers criminal and civil litigation at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court. Notable cases he has handled involve high-profile political and constitutional matters.
Mr. Ajayi has held key appointments within the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), including Co-opted NEC Member, Notary Public appointed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, and membership of several NBA committees such as Human Rights, Police Act Reform, and Law Week Committees. Academically, he serves as an Instructional/Tutorial Facilitator and LL.M Project Supervisor at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

Beyond legal practice, he has worked as a Legal Adviser and Consultant to organizations such as UNESCO, Oxfam International, Ecobank Plc, Livingate Group Ltd, and several small and medium enterprises. His expertise includes legal research, advocacy, public-private dialogue facilitation, organizational development consulting, strategic planning, training design, project management, and policy analysis.
He has published scholarly work, including “Contractual Architecture for Wholesale Electricity Market in Nigeria” in the Journal of Commercial Law. Mr. Ajayi is a member of several professional bodies, including the NBA (Abuja Branch), CEFE Nigeria, UNESCO Centre, and the Institute of Debt Recovery of Nigeria.

Born on 29 June 1976, he is married and hails from Kogi State, Nigeria. He is fluent in English, Yoruba, Hausa, and Owe, and is widely regarded as organized, research-driven, and committed to integrity, learning, and professional excellence.
