Our Story
History of St. Augustine's College Kabba, Old Boys' Foundation
St. Augustine's College Old Boys' Foundation, Kabba was officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on August 21, 2023. The mission of the Foundation is to provide essential resources for educational and leadership development, nurturing the next generation of world leaders emerging from St. Augustine's College. Our vision is to elevate the academic standards, facilities, and recreational activities at the college to a level of the World Class Standard.
Inspiration for Change
The initiation of this vision began with a passion to give back. As President George W.H. Bush once said, "Any definition of success must include serving others." This spirit of service was evident at the inaugural board meeting of St. Augustine's College Old Boys' Foundation (SACKOBF) on November 23, 2022.
The Initiator, Pastor Bernard Adebayo-Ige, P.E., shared a desire to pursue this vision with two close friends who are members of the 1980 Set, namely Dr. Ayo Olowonihi and Mr. Emmanuel Ojo. The College Principal had highlighted the deteriorating conditions and the lack of teachers in key subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Economics, etc during a call, prompting Pastor Bernard to send a presentation to about 20 Old Boys, outlining the state of SACK and calling for collective efforts to raise not less than N10 million annually. The presentation included the quote, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together” (Zambian Proverb).

- Mr. Joshua Ikubaje, 1986
- Pastor Bernard Adebayo-Ige, P.E., 1980
The College Principal also attended the meeting. The consensus was a resounding “YES” to making an intervention. However, it was clear that we needed a structured approach, including a constitution and preparation for registration.
Constitution and Registration
Lawyer Emmanuel Bello, an Attorney, took on the role of drafting the constitution. A SACK Foundation Registration Task Team was constituted, comprising the Attorney, Mr. Ikubaje, Mr. Olowonihi, and Pastor Adebayo- Ige. The 2nd board meeting was held on January 23, 2023, during which more distinguished members joined, including Mr. Gabriel Owope, 1979, and Mr. Idowu Adebola, 1980. During this meeting, Mr. Owope accepted to lead the Fundraising & Finance Committee. The Constitution Registration Process, however, dragged for some time due to inevitable tight schedules of the volunteering Barrister Emmanuel Bello. Barrister Jaiye Samuel (1992) joined the Foundation’s Board in April 2023 and accepted to take over and complete the drafting of the constitution. He successfully completed the Draft and completed the registration of the Foundation on August 21, 2023.
