Engr. Jerome Femi Bello

Engr. Jerome Femi Bello is an accomplished Electrical & Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in brewery, project management, and maintenance of brewery equipment.

Engr. Bello graduated with a second-class upper degree from Ahmadu Bello University in 1970. He furthered his studies at Bolton Institution of Technology in the UK, earning a Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in 1979 and obtained an MSc in Breweries Science from Birmingham University, UK, in 1984 while working with Nigerian Breweries. His professional development includes attending Heineken Management Training in INSEAD France, Cranfield Institute of Management in the UK, and the Wharton Executive Management Course in the USA.

Engr. Bello’s career trajectory includes joining Nigerian Breweries Plc in 1972 as an Electrical Engineer. Over the years, he rose through the ranks, becoming the Chief Engineer, Lagos brewery in 1989 and later serving as Brewery manager at Ibadan brewery, later transferred to Heineken Technical Services as the Senior Consultant maintenance benchmarking in the Netherlands in 1996 where he developed the maintenance policy for Heineken Worldwide.

He transitioned to Human Resource Director for Nigerian Breweries in 2001. He retired from Nigerian Breweries plc and was seconded to Consolidated Breweries as the General Manager Technical in 2004, after which he retired in 2007.

In 2007, Engr Bello co-founded ADECO Project Engineering BV West Africa Ltd with his business partner, Mr De Cocq, driven by their shared vision to meet the growing demand for specialised technical expertise in the maintenance and support of automated electrical and mechanical systems, particularly within the food and beverage industry across West Africa. He continues to serve as principal shareholder and board chairman, playing a strategic role in guiding the company’s growth and long-term direction.

He actively participates in several professional organisations, including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), the Institute of Personnel Management (IPM), the Institute of Directors (IoD), and the Brewing Association of the Americas. Outside his professional commitments, he enjoys fitness activities and is an avid golfer and tennis enthusiast.
